Julia Chafé officially entered the jewelry world by joining her family’s gemstone business, IntercolorUSA — one of the top U.S. wholesalers for sapphires, rubies, and emeralds. What started as “helping out in the family business” quickly turned into a full-blown obsession with gemstones and fine jewelry.
Everything really changed after a gemstone buying trip to Bangkok. Somewhere between trays of sapphires and late nights in the gem district, Julia completely fell in love with colored stones — and especially the stories behind them. She became fascinated by how many hands a gemstone passes through before finally becoming someone’s forever piece.
Julia started sharing that world online — from gemstone sourcing trips and jewelry education to luxury fashion and behind-the-scenes moments in the diamond district. People quickly connected with her mix of industry access, storytelling, and genuine love for jewelry, creating a rapidly growing community of jewelry lovers online.
After her viral coverage surrounding the Ambani wedding, Julia’s audience exploded past 500,000 followers, introducing a whole new audience to the world of gemstones and fine jewelry through her lens.
Later that year, she launched Julia Chafé Fine Jewelry, debuting the now-signature rainbow sapphire chokers. Over 30 chokers sold within the very first day.
In September 2024, The New York Times featured Julia and her growing influence within the jewelry industry.
Julia continued growing both her brand and online community, reaching over 1 million followers across platforms — a uniquely jewelry-obsessed audience brought together by a shared love of gemstones, sparkle, craftsmanship, and colorful fine jewelry.
